🟢 ROUTE 1 — UMUAHIA → BENDE → OHAFIA → AMAEKPU
Umuahia → Bende → Ohafia → Amaekpu Tower
This is the more direct Bende corridor.
Step-by-step:
- Start from Umuahia
Take the road heading towards Bende.

- Continue through the Bende axis
Remain on the main Umuahia–Bende–Ohafia road. The Umuahia–Bende section is approximately 19 km.

- Continue from Bende towards Ohafia
Follow the main road towards Ohafia. The Bende–Ohafia corridor is approximately 45 km.

- Enter the Ohafia/Amaekpu axis
As you approach Ohafia, continue towards Amaekpu.

- Look out for AMAEKPU TOWER 🗼
The tower is a prominent landmark at the centre of Amaekpu and is particularly useful as a reference point. It is situated along the Isiama–Arochukwu Road and is described as a major junction/landmark in Amaekpu.

🔵 ROUTE 2 — UMUAHIA → UZUAKOLI → IGBERE → OHAFIA → AMAEKPU
Umuahia → Uzuakoli → Igbere → Abiriba/Ohafia axis → Amaekpu Tower
This is the alternative Uzuakoli–Igbere corridor.
- Start from Umuahia
Take the road towards Uzuakoli.

Remain on the main road towards Igbere.

- Proceed through Igbere
Continue towards the Ohafia/Abiriba axis.

- Continue towards Ohafia
Follow the road towards Ohafia and then proceed into the Amaekpu axis.
This route from Umuahia to Ohafia via Uzuakoli/Igbere is approximately 69–73 km, depending on the route calculation used.

Once you reach Amaekpu, the tower is an excellent landmark to use as your final destination. It is centrally located and readily recognizable.
