Amaekpu is one of the 26 villages of Ohafia in Abia State of Eastern Nigeria. It is an Igbo speaking region. It is on a Latitude 5’30’, 5 N and Longitude 7’45’, 7’55’E . Amaekpu Ohafia is bordered to the Northern hemisphere by Elu, the ancestral capital of Ohafia. And on the western side by Amangwu Ohafia, another village in Ohafia and on the Eastern hemisphere by Okagwe Ohafia. It is however bordered by the eastern side by Edda in Ebonyi State.
